Just to point somthing out, that mass there is not the Novus ordo, but rather the indian usage of the divine liturgy of st james. That altar they are using is called the altar of the word, after the liturgy of the word the Mass is basicly moved to the higher altar and said ad orientam. Another intresting thing is that pink is an orindary colour of that rite.

That looks a lot like a Latinized Eastern Rite liturgy.

Such floral displays and decor are traditional in India to denote solemnity. It's just different , thats all!

What's all the Stuff on the floor? The world is made up with different cultures, yes; but there needs to be a line drawn somewhere, and I don't see any room for a "line" anywhere around that altar. This makes for distraction, when the minds and hearts should be only on Our Lord. Just like Latin being the universal and mother tongue of the Roman Catholic Church, so we can participate in this one language no matter where one finds himself to be. If I were to go to this country, this type of mass, it would be very difficult to focus and participate when it appears all the attention would be on this gayly constructed 'altar'. Where does it end?
