Catholic website under pressure from authorities goes off-line

Hetzportal Kreuz.net currently offline

The hate-purveying website Kreuz.net, which is run by right-wing Catholics, currently seems to be offline, as Kathpress reported today, citing information from numerous Internet users. It is unclear whether this means that the site will end operation - the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" in this regard is skeptical. They believe that the site was taken offline temporarily, because the pressure from the authorities had become too large.

The operators of the blog, who publish anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic post and defame specific people, are being investigated by both the German and the Austrian law enforcement authorities. In Austria, about four weeks ago, an investigation of a complaint of racial hatred and re-engagement in National Socialist activities was started. The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution consider Kreuz.net a threat to the constitution.

Diocese threatens with "serious consequences"
The blog excites great media interest because its critics claim that even official church representatives - among them are two active priests and one other person in Austria- work for the portal.

The Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Vienna, Nikolaus Krasa threatened at the weekend in the ORF magazine "orientation" all authors - should they prove to be employees of the diocese - "with serious employment law consequences".

You can read the English translations of Kreuz.net here.

Just because they expose hypocrisy, priests molesting, and those who seek the destruction of the Church (even if this includes some Jews), does not make them "hate-purveying" or "anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic" who "defame specific people", does it?

See the article: "The Hunt for Kreuz.net Continues: Victims Will be Created."

I agree, Mr Aversa. Many well-intentioned Catholics blindly accept the headlines peddled by the enemies of the Church, be they within the Church or without, without doing even simple investigative work.

It is quite clear to anyone with their eyes open who is behind this persecution: the homo mafia in the Church which has had some of its boys exposed for what they are, the antiCatholic Jewish lobby which will stomp on anyone who questions their superiority, etc., etc. And, of course, let us never forget that "hidden hand", decried by every Pope from the 18th century up until the 1930s. That hidden hand has never gone away and still operates effectively.

I would strongly advise my fellow Catholic bloggers to be more discerning in these matters, especially when they hear the tiresome refrain of "antisemitism" leveled at the accused.
