Sado-Masochism in Vienna

Reactions
kreuz.net have just outed as a sado-masochist the Cathedral Archivist of Vienna who has been found on a sado-masochistic website. I won't translate the details of a sad life. They say "among others"- as if to imply there might be others from the Archdiocese. The irregularities in the Archdiocese of Vienna have been chronicled on Cathcon, not least Find Fight Follow, their youth Masses, other liturgical abuses such as the Cowboy Mass and the Cardinal standing by when the Cathedral Museum displayed a picture of the Last Supper as a sado-masochistic orgy, a decision that defies logic and reason. I said at the time that he had taken leave of his senses. More recently, he accepted the appointment of a parish councillor in civil partnership. If he does not get a grip soon on the Austrian Church, they will take leave of the Catholic Church. Would a co-adjutor appointed from a country far away from Austria be a good idea- or don't Cardinals ever have co-adjutors in their dioceses.

St Athanasius, whose feastday it is, on Our Lady, whose month it is.

WHEN Arianism broke out, it was Athanasius and the Egyptians who were "faithful found among the faithless;" even the Infallible See ... [was] not happy in the man who filled it. Liberius ... anathematized Athanasius on a point on which Athanasius was right and Liberius was {188} wrong. Cardinal Newman The whole world groaned and was amazed to find itself Arian St Jerome Athanasius contra Mundum- one solitary bishop.

Pope gives money to Ordinariate

Reactions
Pope Benedict XVI. has given the equivalent of € 190,000 to Anglicans who converted to Catholicism in England and Wales, the Ordinariate "Our Lady of Walsingham" announced on its website. This has a similar structure to a diocese and currently has some 1,300 lay members and about 60 priests. Pope Benedict XVI had created the diocesan organisation in 2011 to allow Anglican Christians to embrace the Catholic Church while retaining the Anglican tradition. Among other things, the decision of the Anglican Church to admit women to the episcopate, had led to protests among the faithful and to resignations. So far, there are two Ordinariates. After the Vatican erected Our Lady of Walsingham in January, there was another started in the United States. The British had already immediately after its foundation asked for financial support. The director and former Anglican Bishop Keith Newton estimated the annual cost of running at more than one million euros. From Radio Vatican

Western Rites in the Eastern Church

Reactions
A fascinating history and a great sign towards the future.  Both East and West should relax about Catholics using Orthodox rites and vice-versa.   Up until today, I was not aware of Orthodox in good standing using Western Rites.
