Fast canonisation of Pope John Paul II hopes former Papal secretary

Despite the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI and the upcoming election of a successor, the Archbishop of Lviv, Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki, hopes that later this year John Paul II will be canonised, "I do not believe that the resignation will have influence on the process of canonisation," said Mokrzycki to the Polish news agency PAP in an interview published on Monday. "The test of the credibility of a miracle of healing should not take too long. If the miracle is approved soon, the canonization could still happen this autumn." Mokrzycki before his appointment as Archbishop in western Ukrainian Lviv worked with John Paul II and Benedict XVI as a secretary.
